WSB at the Museum
Did you know Wantage Silver Band has an exhibit dedicated to their history in the Vale & Downland Museum, Wantage?
Officially opened by Town Mayor of Wantage Councillor Dr Angela Dunford on Saturday 1st March 2025, the display features photos and videos from our archives, items such as uniform and music as well as lots of information so you can find out more about WSBs fifty year history in the town.

This couldn't have been successfully executed with the help of Margaret Hanlon, Ann Chadwick, Eileen Sykes, Gareth Coulson, Sam Wyne and Eleanor Turner.
"Something for the community"
We hope that members of the community will enjoy reading about the band. Most of the text was written by the late Alan Sykes who wrote a 'history of the band' document before he sadly passed away in 2024. Alan's legacy lives on at WSB and we remember him in many ways including this exhibition.
